3rd Annual Hunters Moon Dance Happening

Saturday October 12th 5:00-8:00 site-specific walking performance Followed by a bonfire dance party

October 12th will be the culminating event of the Art In Nature series and will be the 3rd annual Hunters Moon Dance Happening.  Isabelle curates the site specific walking performance and this year has added in a one week residency with the artists to collaboratively create the work together with community engagement activities October 7th - 13th. 

Kristina Isabelle Dance has partnered with the Tryon Farm Institute to present Art In Nature, a monthly performance series featuring dance, film, music and art experiences at Tryon Farm in Michigan City.  Join us and bring a picnic to enjoy an evening under the stars exploring Art in Nature as we enrich the natural environment with movement, light and sound to build intimate connections between people and nature. 

Tryon Farm Institute and Kristina Isabelle Dance bring a unique partnership to allow artists a chance to explore the ecological environment to develop their work as well as to introduce the public to new artistic experiences based in nature.

The featured artists are Jenn Freeman (Po’Chop) a performance artist and choreographer who is a current Chicago Dancemakers Forum lab Artist, Precious Jennings movement artist is exploring the spinning wheel as her inspiration, Megan Scheenberger movement artist, Amelia Charter is bringing her unique quilts to the mix, opera singer and movement artist Julian Otis will be among the three musicians sonically activating Hunters Moon.  Angel Bat Dawid describes herself as a clarinettist, composer and “spiritual jazz soothsayer”,  and Wilson Tanner Smith rounds out the trio on his cello.  Also joining the group and facilitating a visual world for the artists is Andy Bellomo,  a mixed media artist, applying her perspective with stained glass, paint and glass etching.

***This is a walking performance - wear comfortable clothing and layers for the weather. Flashlights recommended.
